Presentation - 2005/06 Season - Saturday

It will soon be that time of year again when trophies are due to be given out to those outstanding players who have made their mark in the season.

Naturally there is no information here at the moment.......................

You could always look at the Trophy Contenders for a little bit of a sneak preview !!!!

Saturdays finished respectable in 6 th place – we only lost 2 games to teams that finished above us – overall it was a good season.

DRUNK OF THE YEAR

So the infamous “DRUNK OF THE YEAR” – Saturdays had 3 main contenders – but we have to mention the also rans – FOXY has had his attempts this year – Rob “dry your eyes” Kent and Phill “crutches” Shuff all have had a go. Howard has also had his moments and has been seen in some interesting states. But it was a head to head battle between the man who sleeps on steps and the man who will sleep anywhere.

Drunk of the Year

The Drunk of the Year “Saturdays is Andy Beau.

WOOL HEAD of the YEAR

Woolhead of the Year

Moving away slightly – new ventures, new problems…….. but along came a couple of strange problems – one that I haven't had for a good number of years………. And this is hair !!!

I would like to make a quick presentation for “woolhead of the Year” to Rob Kent

TOP GOALSCORER

Obviously both teams have moved up a division and we have been as effective as ever on the goals front 16 different scorers this season – Foxy started to get on target, the surprise package was Chris Jones with 3 – if I am right he hasn't scored in the last 4 seasons. Deano eventually found the target with 7, Colley on his day couldn't hit a barn door got 10, Duzza put in 11 but way out in front with 24 was Dave Ramsey.

Saturday top scorer – Dave Ramsey.

SUPPORTERS PLAYER

A personal thanks to everyone who has come along and supported us this year – all weathers and offering encouragement to the guys on the pitch.

Saturdays winner is ……….. have your hankies ready……..

Rob Kent

REFEREES M O M - R/Up

Sometimes they are not our best friends – especially Dave's - but we have done really well this year only missing 1 game. This resulted in Crouchy offering the guy out after saving a penalty.

At the end of the season there were 2 votes separating the top 4. a couple of mentions need to go to Dave Ramsey, Phil Tranter, Andy Beau and Matty Townend.

The runner up for Referees Manof the Match is Rob Kent.

REFEREES M O M

Referees Man of the Match

Every game is the same - never questions the man in the middle, gets on with it and doesn't moan!!

Ever consistent throughout the season the winner is

Paul Beaumont

PLAYERS PLAYER - Runner Up

Players vote every week – with some interesting points of view. There have been some great performances this season Andy Beau, Acky and Phil Tranter to mention a few. But this went down to the last two games of the season to separate the top three.

The runner up is ……….

Paul Beaumont

Players Player - Runner Up

PLAYERS PLAYER

Players Player

When votes are taken every week - it shows who the key performers are within the team - putting in a performance week in week out.

Except for his moaning and groaning, oh and that little spat that he had in the Sheps when he needed to dry his eyes for about an hour...........

The Winner is Rob Kent
MANAGERS PLAYER - R/Up

This is voted throughout the season and Saturdays have brought a lot of new faces. We have the brothers grim – oh sorry Andy and Paul who have given a great deal this season.

The voting for both days were very close.

Most of last season I watched from afar - this player has come on leaps and bounds and always gives 110%

Saturdays Runner Up is Phil Tranter

Managers Player - Runner Up

MANAGERS PLAYER

Managers Player
Consistency has shown through, throughout the whole season Rob has stepped up and delivered in more ways than most.

Solid in the tackle and showing maturity on the pitch beyond his years.

The Winner is Rob Kent
THE PLAYER OF THE SEASON

A vote from every player and supporter at the end of the season decides who the Player of the Season is. On Saturdays a number of players picked up votes including Dave Ramsey, Rob Kent, Danny Milburn, Phil Tranter, Matty Townend, Paul Beau and Dean Newbold.

This award has to be the one that everyone strives to achieve.

This is voted for by everyone involved in the club. The winner walks away with a trophy and a shield that is held in The Sheps.

Well done - A great season.

Well that is the conclusion of the presentation night for the season 2005-06, you would think so - wouldn't you, but no, the drinking and frolics carried on till late that evening. I can reassure you that no one was up early the next morning.

Have a look at who won the trophies for the Sunday team and have a look at some of the fun that was had on the night. CLICK HERE.

I hope that this gives you an idea of the great nights that are had by all at The Shepherds Arms.
